The zoo in Vienna (Austria) is the oldest zoo of the world. It become 1752 on suggestion the of the emperor Franz I. In the 1980-he 1980 so strong economic break-downs were to be registered that one already thought of the Zusperren. 1992 were denationalized the zoo however and are successfully led since then by Dr. Helmut Pechlaner.

Success has its price. By numerous sponsors and admission fees risen inconsiderably could all enclosures be renewed and not extended.
