A winter sports area is completely generally a routistic range approved for the ski and Snowboardfahren, the Langlauf or winter sports. A winter sports area is an important routistic attraction.

A range of a mountain opened by aerial ropeways, in which above all ski driving and Snowboardfahren are operated, is called also skiing area (into Austria ski area). The operator of a skiing area - usually an enterprise - possesses the mountain country usually not used for the plant of ski runways, but leases it from the basic owners.
