The resident of Munich west park was put on for the international horticulture exhibition by 1983.
At that time the 72 hectares of surface were also over 5000 trees and over 100.000 bushes, numerous countries arranged nation gardens, from which some remained after the end of the exhibition.
Approximately around the west lake in the western part of the park are today among other things:
- The Japanese garden, a contribution of the residents of Munich twin city Sapporo.
- The Chinese garden, which was established under guidance by six gardners from canton.
- The rose garden, in which 20,000 roses were cultivated by over 500 sorts. Here is also the beer garden of the same name.
- The sea-stage, on in the summer the open air cinemas (cinema, moon & stars), - music and - theatres to be offered.
- A Pagode, which was carved by 200 craftsmen in over one year's work in Nepal.
- A 9 meters high Sala Thai. Here annually the Thai New Year celebration (April) and the hinduistische light celebration find (Octobers) as well as in the summer the buddhistischen full moon celebrations.
To the leisure offer of the west park belong play and sports fields, grill opportunities, two beer gardens, branched moving and cycle tracks.
West and East part of the park, between which a major road is, are connected by a broad transfer. In the East part is the Mollsee, also Baltic Sea mentioned.
Traffic conditions
- South the west park is the underground station west park.
- North the west park is the u and rapid-transit railway station Heimeranplatz.
