The Wandsbeker market place was the traditional market place in Wandsbek. 1962 were opened here the U-Bahnhof Wandsbek market. The weekly market was shifted to the road Quarree. The place seams the Wandsbeker market route with the department store Karstadt, the purchase passage "„Wandsbek Quarree "“and numerous retail businesses; the lock road with the Stormarnhaus and further offices of important companies. At the eastern side the Christ church limits the place.

The new place

Puvogel well

The Puvogelbrunnen was inaugurated on 25 June 1892. The building of this well was initiated by the second Wandsbeker mayor Friedrich Puvogel. The building of this splendourful, artful jumping well was spectacular for conditions at that time and was connected with enormous costs.

The well was supplied with the help of the pumping plant at the large lake. After Friedrich Puvogel died then in the year 1907, the tower was shifted in green belts of the lock road. After 1960 the building of the u and rapid-transit railway lines was then introduced, the place of the well had again to be changed.

Now it receives a new place at the eastern side of the bus station again.

Stormarnhaus

The Stormarnhaus was established to 1922-23 after plans by Fritz for the administration of the circle Stormarn. Since the year 1949 it is the office for district Hamburg Wandsbek.

Christ church

The Christ church Wandsbek delighted in the years 1953/55 and 1963/65 (addition by the tower) after draft of the architect's office Hopp & hunter. The building of the church building took over remainders (prop columns and bases) 1943 of the part-destroyed building of predecessors of 1900/01.

History

1634 became at this place the first Wanddsbeker church - which Dreifaltigkeitskirche - builds. Around 1650 this received a tower as cultivation. 1800 were inaugurated - while maintaining the tower - a new church in the klassizistischem style. 1898 were destroyed it by fire. The third church - Christ church - was inaugurated 1901. This was held in the again-gothical style. 1943 were heavily damaged it.

Heinrich Carl count von Schimmelmann ordered by will the building of a grave chapel for itself. It was built for 1787 to 1791durch C.G. horn after simplified plans of the Italian architect G.A. Antolini in the klassizistischen quiet.

Mould man, 1724 in the min (Vorpommern) born, was Wandsbeker landowner, is enough commercial gentleman and Danish treasurer. After its death 1782 in Copenhagen he was buried 1792 in the Mausoleum, where also his Mrs. Caroline virtue realm rests.
