Viennese the streetcar museum was opened on 13 June 1992 and is at the Ludwig Koessler place in the 3. Viennese municipality district, highway. The museum of the Viennese lines and a private operating association of the associations VEF (federation of the railway friends) and WTM (association Viennese Tramwaymuseum) is received. On a surface of 7.700 m approximately 100 streetcars from the entire Viennese streetcar history on 1,810 meters of track length are issued. The oldest exhibit is a Pferdetramway from the year 1868.

Before opening of the museum 1986 many of the issued streetcars were in one resound the Remise earth mountain accommodated starting from. When this 1990 were left open, adaptation work for the museum on the area began. Other vehicles were in one resound the operating station Ottakring.

The vehicles of the museum will in an own workshop range, which has 4 tracks with 232 m length and a surface of 900 m so well it goes also held in condition ready for operation, in order to be able to be presented with special causes driving. Numerous vehicles were already restored and reconstructed since the opening, in order to have marked also optically nothing from the age.

Exhibits worth mentioning are beside the Pferdetramway from 1868 also the Dampftramwaygarnitur from 1885/1886 as well as electrically operated road and city railway waggon from the time of 1901 to 1969. Likewise in the museum issued motorbuses are from the time of 1949 to 1989.
