Viennese the ferris wheel in the Viennese Prater is a well-known and much visited landmark of Vienna and was for some time the largest ferris wheel of the world.

History

It became 1896 the celebration 50. Throne anniversary emperor Franz Josephs Ith on the Prater area of English engineer walter B. Also today one still sees that each second arm at the ferris wheel is empty and carries it now altogether 15 cars.

Viennese the ferris wheel has a diameter of 60.96 meters and the highest point of the ferris wheel is 64.75 meters over the soil. The weight of the rotary construction amounts to 244.85 t and the total weight of all iron constructions 430.05 t. The axle of the ferris wheel is 10.78 m long, has a diameter of 0,5 m and weighs 16.3 t. The speed of the ferris wheel amounts to maximally 2.7 kilometers per hour.
