Tioman (malaiisch: Pulau Tioman) is a malaiische island in the southChinese sea. It is appropriate for about 50 km east before the mainland of the malaiischen peninsula. Tioman consists of several villages, which consist to a large extent of small, simple huts for tourists and only over the water or moving ways are attainable by the jungle.

On the island, which belongs to the Federal State Pahang, there are only one road and few cars and motorcycles. The small airport of the island is approached by of Berjaya air and makes the island also with the Oberschicht of the close large cities Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong a popular week final trip goal. To reach the island is except with the airplane only with one of the numerous ferries, which oscillate all day long between Tioman and Mersing. To the in Mersing there are regular bus connections from Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru and Singapore. A direct with Singapore was however adjusted. The inside of 39 km are enough and 12 km broad island is covered a nature reservation, with tropical jungle. The highest point is the mountain Gunung Kajang (1038m). Around the island distributed there are some dipping areas, which are comparable quite interesting, but not with the districts on the Maldives or the Red Sea. In the proximity there are also some wrecks from the Second World War, like the HMS Prince OF Wales or the HMS Repulse. These are appropriate for technical divers in a depth of 50 - 70 meters and are thus reserved.

Admits became the island by the Hollywood film South Pacific, which was turned there 1958.
