Thomas Cook and Son was created the name of a British travel agency, 1871 of Thomas Cook with Thomas Mason Cook as official partner. After the death of the founder the enterprise was resumed from 1892 to 1928 by its descendants and finally sold. At the enterprise time Thomas Cook was a synonym for good-organized journeys.

- 26. September 1872 the first voyage round the world is accomplished. Duration: 222 days
- 1874In New York is introduced Thomas Cook"´s traveler's letter of credit, a forerunner of the modern traveler's cheque.
- 1879 John Mason Cook set on internationalization of the exempt private company: He drives expenditures out "of the The Excursionist "- a kind offer newspaper, which was created 1851 by its father - also in overseas. Thus it informs customers in France, Germany, India, Australia, Asia, America and the middle east about its offers.
- 1879Thomas Cook withdraws itself from the business. Its son becomes exclusive acting partner of the enterprise.
- 1892 Thomas Cook die at the age of 83 years
- 1899 John Mason Cook die. Its sons franc Henry, Ernest Edward and Thomas Albert continue the business.
- 1900 Thomas Cook & Son become world-wide market leader in the travel branch.
- 1919 Thomas Cook & Son drive the first Flugtickets out.
- 1928 franc Henry and Ernest Edward sell the enterprise to their only international competition: The Compagnie international one of the Wagons Lits et the Grands express Europeans, Paris and Brussels.
