Seaside resort is a descriptor for health resorts, assigned in Germany.

It is assigned at localities, in which medical mechanisms are present for the execution of cure measures, which are however no therapeutic baths. In addition the descriptor seaside resort requires the use of the sea-climate in the cure enterprise.

Most German seaside resorts call themselves according to their situation as North Sea bath or Baltic Sea bath, depending on whether they are located at the North Sea or at the Baltic Sea. This designation may be led in the place name, many places does however without it. A counter example is the place Laboe on the east bank of the Kieler Here on 1 September 2004 the municipality name was renamed by the local council in "„Baltic Sea bath Laboe "“.

Seaside resorts, which have the status of a therapeutic bath, are called sea-therapeutic baths.

Many seaside resorts have a routistic infrastructure. Seaside resorts are also on all inhabited German islands. The oldest German seaside resorts are holy dam with bath Doberan in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Norderney (Ostfriesi islands) and at the bay.
