The pilgrimage church sank Salvator lies with Rauenzell in the Steinbach forest (middle Franconia/Bavaria)

The Steinbach forest with Rauenzell accommodates the oldest former Wallfahrt of the Eichst¤tt.

History

• 1353 event for the emergence of the Wallfahrt. A small building of a barrier travel chapel developed. Further buildings followed over the time and the Wallfahrt flowered ever more up. Until in the year 1803 the secularization in Bavaria introduction held. After some resistance the Wallfahrstkirche suffered a fate, which divides her with many church buildings in this time.

• 1806 to 1807 sharpening the church by the secularization now fell this place in the Steinbach forest into a kind Sleeping Beauty slumber. Falling leaves did its part to the fact that over the years nothing more points on a former pilgrimage church. A well remainder was only a obvious witness of former Christian life. After 195 years the desire for this old church again to search so large and by outward circumstances became realistic that a promotion association was based.

• Autumn 2002 Archeologi excavations to the local search foundation walls of pc. Salvator. One found good-received foundation remainders of the pilgrimage church and wall remainder of buildings of predecessors, which could have developed possibly in a time before 1353.

• 2003 reconstruction of the well head and the cleaning of the 23m of deep well, which was filled with church abort 1807.

• 2004 completion of the reconstruction of the former foundation walls
