The Rachelkapelle is a chapel at the mountain Rachel in the Bavarian forest.
The chapel which was in 1212 meters height over the sea level on a rock projection/lead above the Rachelsees decreases/goes back to a building of origins of the yearly 1885, established from a Spiegelauer forest master named guidance houses. This chapel built completely from wood burned after the Second World War down.
1951 a new building in same place, again completely from wood. On the inside the new chapel with Schnitzereien of the Spiegelauer Herrgottschnitzers Johann Lentner was verziert.
After this second Rachelkapelle to 19. A fire to the victim were, they likewise please March 1972 in same shape were again developed and again also Schnitzereien created by Johann Lentner equipped.
End of the 1990er years had strongly worsened the condition of the chapel by influences of the weather and signs of aging, so that a fundamental reorganization became necessary, which included an almost complete original-faithful new building of the wood building. The work was final with the inauguration on 24 June 2000.
