The project Isar south the Siemens material Estate in the resident of Munich quarter Obersendling planned a fundamental reorganization of the Siemens area beginning 2005 up to the year 2016.

A goal of the project was it among other things to open and improve by new dwellings and office surfaces the quality of life in the quarter the location locked at present as well as concentrate further Siemens employees. The project should be final 2016 after several sections, whereby the planned volume amounted to approximately 750,000 m gross floor area (BGF). Of it 440,000 m should be allotted to BGF to offices, 120,000 m BGF to dwellings and the remainder to infrastructural mechanisms. The moreover one 50,000 m were intended for green belts. This would have been collected the largest investment (~ 1,5 billion euro) in the city Munich, which wanted to ever transact a company.

The project covered also two multistoried buildings with a height of 148 and 112 meters, which should form high Siemens multistoried building (1963) with the existing old 75m an ensemble. These planning was heftigst criticized by multistoried building opponents, since one feared a negative influence of the well-known Alpenpanorams by the towers.

By the citizen desiring "„the initiative our Munich activated by old mayor Georg Kronawitter "“necessarily became a complete restructuring of the entire project, since after the success of the initiative provisionally in Munich no more multistoried buildings may be built, which the woman Mrs. (100 meters) would tower above. In the meantime the existing Siemens multistoried building on the area, which should be originally torn off, was sold to an investor, who wants to recondition it. A complete planning of the area is not possible thus any longer and thus might the overall project be probably void.

It is unclear to what extent the failure of Isar south is connected with the citizen desiring. The realization of the project would have been possible probably also with a smaller building height.
