Pc. James's Palace was to 1837 the official Londoner residence of the respective British monarch. It is today still the official administrative seat of the royal yard. Here the Ambassadors are accredited by Great Britain. Also the proclamation of a new monarch takes place here.

The building was established in the time from 1532 to 1540 by Heinrich VIII.

Today the palace of the Prince OF Wales and other one used the Queen inhabited. The earlier seat of the British queen nut/mother, Clarence House, lies within the palace walls. The messuage is separated only by the pc. James's park from the Buckingham palace.

Touristi

An interesting play is the awake separation at the palace. In the summer months April to July takes place these daily, otherwise every two days. In order to be able to regard the interesting event from the proximity, one should appear oneself in time before the palace, since for this no maps are sold.

Since 1660 the Household is responsible troops (guard troops) for the guard of the royal palaces. After Queen Victoria had moved 1837 in the Buckingham palace, the troops divided themselves. A guard remained at the St James's palace, the other one followed the Queen to the Buckingham palace. So marched also today still another part of the guard around 11.15 by the St James's park to the Buckingham palace and returns at 12.05 o'clock to the pc. James's Palace. The awake separation takes place however only on the days, on which also the Buckingham Palace guard is replaced.
