The path of the is an art project at the southern end of the Friedrichstrasse in Berlin, in the proximity of the Mehringplatzes (formerly bark Alliance place). It consists of in three-rows in the soil let in boards with intelligent statements of famous personalities of 27 European countries.
All 25 European Union member countries, in addition the entry candidates Romania and Bulgaria are represented. On each plate the saying of a large statesman, poet or a writer of the appropriate country is contained. Only Belgium is represented with a quotation of Julius (see below). Some of the sense sayings are rather abstractly, others again graphic.
The project is led an initiative of the association "world of art ", from the artist Bonger Voges. The suggestions were submitted of the countries involved by the messages and evaluated by a jury, which consisted of citizens of Berlin politicians and prominent ones. The construction costses of 200.000 euro brought private sponsors up. The object is to contribute the little to growing together Europe and also to it, frequented southern end of the Friedrichstrasse to make more well-known. Up to the inauguration of the object three years passed. A problem consisted of finding only a suitable material for the protection of the plates since these should be durably accessible. Finally one found a special laminated glass, which is so stable that even a 12-Tonnen delivery van can drive over it.
