Parsenn is belonged to Davos a skiing area above and to the winter sports area Davos of monastery Mountains.

The Parsennbahn was the second expressed sport course (course, which is aligned as passengers only to sportsmen) of Switzerland.

History

• 1931 building of the 1. Section of the endless rope haulage system Davos village - elevator way
• 1932 building of the 2. Section elevator way - Weissfluhjoch with the restaurant on the Weissfluhjoch. approx. 61 ' 000 passengers were already transported. The capacity amounts to 350 persons per hour.
• 1936 salient frequency increase on approx. 235 ' 000 persons in the year.
• 1937 duplication of the transportation capacity with the endless rope haulage system of 350 to 700 Pers. /h.
• 1942/43 building of the Swiss federal institute for snow and avalanche research on the Weissfluhjoch
• 1955 opening of the wire ropeway Weissfluhjoch - Weissfluhgipfel
• 1961 business opening of the wire ropeway - Weissfluhjoch
• 1967 establishment of the sport courses Pischa AG, which is led as a daughter.
• 1972 inauguration of the new valley station in Davos village
• 1982 business opening of the connecting wire ropeway yoke express
• 1987 opening of the car course Schifer - Weissfluhjoch in two sections with a transportation capacity of ever 1 ' 700 Pers. /h
• 1994 in co-operation with the Gotschnabahn are built one the first Beschneiungsanlage of the region. In the same year the admission system is changed over to a contactless Handsfree system.
• 1996 opening of the Mountainbike Downhillstrecke Weissfluhjoch - monastery. Approximately 500 Biker register 14 km long distance in the first year!
• 1998 opening of a second MTB Downhillstrecke of the Weissfluhjoch into the Totally in this summer approximately 1 ' 200 Biker are transported!
• 2002 the 1. Section of the Parsennbahn is comprehensively renewed. Thus the capacity increases in the Parsenngebiet to 2 ' 200 Pers. /h. Because of the high speed of the course it also alpine Ferrari is called.
