History

The place and with it also a first church probably developed in the expanded Rodungsperiode of the 11. /12.Jahrhunderts in a time mild climates and pronounced population growth. The whole surrounding forest area with its numerous small housing estates gives itself to recognize already at first sight as Rodungsland. The patron pc. George can refer as knight-holy to an existing castle (in the place of the today's lock). Already the historian Friedrich Zoepfl assumed a castle chapel as the first church. In the documents Bedernau appears first with a welfischen Ministerialen "“Heinricus de Bedernowe"” in the year 1160. After the tradition the chapel is to have received to Bedernau in the year 1167 from abbott Isengrim from Ottobeuren Reliquien. For the hiring of Reliquien of the Hl. Ursula and their companions from Cologne the condition was attached to hold annually an asking course after Ottobeuren which still in 17. and 18. Century is testified.

13. Century:

Around 1250 the Pfarrei already exists. After the Welfen the neighbouring Mindelberger Mr. von Bedernau is provable since 1250. 18. Century: The holy calculations testify for late 17. and 18. Century a very active church life. 1952/53: Interior restoration under minister Karl Imhof

New Tabernakel manufactured of hearing man, altar farmer in Babenhausen, restoration of the space version (among other things acceptance of gold platings at the stucco) and figures by company Haugg, Sontheim; Restoration of the side altars by Stuckateur Schnitzer, Buching; by the same also new preparation of the 2 stucco marble columns under the loft (heretofore square, wooden carrying columns, like today still under the organ loft). 1955 the service the sacristan relieved by the installation of an electrical ringing plant for the large and the middle bell by the company Hoerz, Ulm.

1958 of at the beginning of of February were terminated the installation of an electrical church heating. 130 m tubing heating elements under the of the women and men were shifted, furthermore 30 m flat heating elements for the child banks in the choir. The entire plant has an output used up of 50.000 Watts and therefore 50 KW/H. The total costs amounted to 3.720 DM; they were applied by a list collection from house to house; per household on the average an amount of 20 should, - DM to be donated. The heat development of the new heating was not satisfying however and it was still bitter in the winter in the church. Perhaps it was because of the unsatisfactory current supply Bedernaus. The past mains voltage of 120 V was not sufficient with the numerously used electrical household appliances and agricultural machines. Thus for example the force tension from 220 V did not continue to sink to 190 V. like that is it amazing when switching on of the church heating on that many citizens already expected those since some years announced current conversion with longing. It should bring a tension elevation of the local area network on 220 V and the power system on 360 V.

1968 - 1970 interior and external renovation

On 2 June 2001 we inserted for decades the altarpieces paged out in the tower again into the high altar and the left side altar.
