History

National the Gallery was brought 1824 into being, after the British government had bought the collection of the Russian John Julius meadow stone. In the first 14 years the pictures were accommodated temporarily in meadow stone house. Later further donations of Sir George Beaumont and William followed get-wave Carr to establish with the condition a more suitable building for the collection which also happened 1938. Center 19. The building

The building at the Trafalgar Square was established to 1837 by William Wilkins. It had integrated thereby the columns of the Portikus destroyed Carl clay/tone of the House into the front.
