The Main-Frankish museum is up pepper castle accommodated since 1947 in the building of commanders and parts of the Echterbastei in the fortress Marienberg. It carries its names since 1939, before was called it Frankish Luitpoldmuseum.

Emphasis of the exhibition is:

• Frankish works of art of different kind, among it the largest collection of works of the sculptor Tilman belt cutter
• urban history
• Pre and early history
• History and technology of the viticulture in Franconias
• A collection of historical clocks, among other things such of the of master Martin Schipani

The department for urban history, which is accommodated in the building of princes and is accessible over the museum of building of princes, covers among other things two large city models, from which the condition of the city in the Middle Ages shows, manufactured from wood, the other one the destruction by the heavy air raid of 16. March 1945.

In the Main-Frankish museum also a selection of the famous of lie stones is issued.
