Lock Solitude (French: Isolation) became as hunt and representation lock 1764 - 1769 under duke Karl Eugen of build.

Architectural style

Lock Solitude was sketched by a kind working group at the Hofe, under guidance of the master of building of yards Philippe de La and under energetic co-operation of the prince and some other building masters. It is outward a typical Rococo lock. On the inside however already the klassizistische epoch beginning becomes apparent: Instead of the irregular, lively forms one finds Rococo during the space and allocation of wall even-moderate, calm classical proportions.

Imitator

As well known locks were often copied. The Solitudeallee

It leads by Stuttgart Weilimdorf and past at S-Zuffenhausen, S-Stammheim and grain west home. It is also today kept still nearly complete, partially as asphalted dirt road.
