The Meininger lock Landsberg is on a 380 meters high mountain cone, which projects south of barrier village and north of Meiningen in the Werratal. The former desire lock of the Meininger of dukes was built on the ruins of the castle of national weirs destroyed in the farmer war in the years 1836 to 1840 and accommodated today a romantic 4-Sterne-Hotel.
