The slate and castle road lies in the central range of the between Mosel and close ones. It runs in the range of the convention communities Kirchberg, Rhaunen and Kirn country as well as the city Kirn.

The holidays road existing since 1991 covers seven experience routes, at which several locks and castle ruins, one line themselves up slate pit which can be visited and further objects of interest. The reconstructed Keltensiedlung old castle is particularly worth seeing with federation brook, the Schmidtburg with Schneppenbach, the Kyrburg and as soon as the town centre Kirns with buildings from five centuries. To it also several buildings of splendour, those belong on behalf the prince family of Salm Kyrburg in the second half 18. Century were established.

Is carried the holidays road of a non-profit promotion association, whose office is settled in the administration of the convention community Kirn country.
