By a holiday house one understands generally a house, in which guests can spend their vacation against payment for a certain period. Normally such a house is operated exclusively for the temporary letting to guests, built frequently it also alone for this purpose. In addition, some families possess a holiday house for self use, for example in landschaftlich delightful areas.

If the holiday house is not part of a vacation plant, one has here rather the possibility, also country to become acquainted with and people, in which one spends its vacation for example in a Finca in Spain, a in Finland, a hut in Switzerland or in traditional houses in the or Austria. Naturally there is further variety here like failed objects in the Karibik or even whole islands.

In many vacation regions the letting takes place from holiday houses only wochenweise, whereby as a journey day Saturday is often considered; this applies in particular to holiday houses in vacation plants. To the normal cost of renting per day can come also further additional expenses for final purification, water and river or bedlinen and towels. The letting can be made by a tour operator, a travel agency or directly with the landlord. During the switching of holiday houses can be helpful also tourist boards, which bring current accommodation listings out annually for their region, as well as special employment agencies. Also one load minute of reservation of holiday houses is meanwhile possible.
