Overview

The European cycle path g 1 (European cycle track g 1, euro-route g 1) is until Tallinn in Estonia put on as wheel remote way by Calais in France. The first sections were already built around 1980 in the Netherlands, in the Weser mountain country and in the cathedral country. Appropriate overnight accomodation and food supply possibilities are close at the way. The way continues to lead the northern edge of resin (Goslar) for 915 km by Germany of the Netherlands border (Vreden) by the cathedral Muenster, over the Teutoburger forest, across anhaltisches area and Brandenburg to potsdam, Berlin and by Switzerland and the Oderbruch to the Polish border (Poland)

In the Netherlands there is a fully removed wheel route net, which is beschildert with the planned routing already partially. Because of the multiplicity of the cycle tracks one is however dependent on good maps still.

Poland

The Polish section is constantly very well out-described. The road quality is at least as good as in Germany, with a very small traffic density.

Sign-posting

In Germany the European cycle track is in the meantime beschildert as "“g 1"” in green on white to a large extent. One finds the publicized variant "“European cycle track g 1"” or "“European route g 1"” partial with additional explanations, Ortstafeln and referring to routistic interesting goals.

Development

In principle the European cycle track is led across distances, which are loaded with KFZ traffic few. Except in the many passages by routistic interesting places, the route runs usually by nature and off the roads. In many regions the ways are already very well developed. The roadway surfaces are however still unbefesigt partly. In the resin between Langelsheim and Ermsleben, is to be counted additionally still on some strong upward gradients.
