Ellmau is a municipality in the district Kufstein, Tirol in (Austria).

Ellmau is to about 17 km because of the foot of the protected area of savage emperor from the motorway exit Kufstein south far away in 820 m height in the Leukental embedded between the lime massif of the wild emperor in the north and the hard emperor in the south. The place is a summer as well as winter sports area and lives mainly from the tourism (approx. 5,000 guest beds).

A first documentary mention experienced the place in the year 1155. The settlement area extends over the entire Ellmauer saddle, which forms the Wasserscheide between Inn and bulk thing.

Ellmau has an expanded golf course, a large experience swimming pool, an endless rope haulage system on the hard emperor and thus connection to the large ski area, which extends up to the high salvo in the west.
