The Weiler dry yard is because of the edge of forest under the large double castle light stone with Pfarrweisach in the district of hate mountains in Lower Franconia. Still in 19. Century lay here a small round tower on a small island in the midst of a Weihers, which is interpreted today of the castle customer as military memory.

History

The dry yard was the seat of a line of the family of light stone, which appears with Apel from light stone to 1388 for the first time documentary.

Already the name refers to an easily fastened yard place, thus one "„tower yard "“.

1993 were submitted to the Middle Ages archaeologist Joachim Zeune a design Ludwig of judge (1837), which today as one of the few proofs of a Frankish military memory is considered.

The sheet shows the castle light stone in the background, in the valley stands a low round tower before one - this very day invariably received - for one-story buildings diagonally. The tower begins already too in ruins, the lower part of the shroud from regular sandstone right parallelepipeds is missing already. On the right side a high entrance inlet grants, the tower crown kragt easily forwards. Two throw openings (Maschikulis) break through the three graduated wall bulges of the pre-assembled rising up. Left remainders of brick-work follow the building.

The tower probably lay on a small island in the Weiher. On the design a narrow timber bridge makes the entrance possible. Tower and island disappeared today, the building in the background are however clearly identifiable.

Beside the small water castle Dippach is the presumed military memory of the yard place dry yard a good example of the small Ansitze of the local aristocracy so numerous in the late Middle Ages in the hate mountains. Such buildings formed the lowest stage of the medieval "„Burgenhierachie "“, whose central tract will represent old person stone, light stone, Raueneck and Rotenhan in this hill country so impressively by the surrounding castles.
