The Darsser place forms the northernmost promontory of the peninsula Fischland Darss Zingst at the Baltic Sea. It is in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, about 6 kilometers northwest the Baltic Sea bath Prerow and 11 kilometers northnortheast the Baltic Sea bath Ahrenshoop because of the most northwest place of the peninsula Darss.

Emergence and condition

"„The Darsser place "“resulted from sand and sediment deposits. These were cleared away by the east current at the coast of the peninsula fish country, prevailing mainly here, in the last well 250-300 years and settled at "„the Darsser place "“again, so that a small Nehrung could form here. This development is not final. Also today it comes at the Darsser place to the emergence of new country and/or the separation of parts of the Baltic Sea and following silting-up.

The Darsser place consists in the north nearly only of sand banks and is here relatively flat. To the south dune belts continue to follow, which achieve a considerable height. Between the dunes are several lowering, which accommodate either meanwhile moorland or Sumpfgebiete or but are filled with flat brackish water lakes predominantly. Still south drying continues to lie to lying ranges expanded forest areas, predominantly from Kiefern constantly bewachsen on that.

Tourism

The entire area of the Darsser of place can be achieved only to foot or with the bicycle best from Prerow. There are not motor roads. Touristi goals at the Darsser place are the Natureum, a branch office of the sea museum Stralsund, the 1847/1848 established and 35 meters high lighthouse, which can be mounted at certain times, the nature worth seeing relatively "„of the young "“country and the nearly unaffected beaches.

Nature and nature protection

The area around the Darsser place lies in a protected area and belongs at the same time to the national park Vorpommer Boddenlandschaft. Due to the rare plant types and here the numerously breeding sea-birds therefore a strict way requirement applies; Excursion ions off the ways require a special permission.

Port

At the Darsser place is a port of refuge for leisure dump truck, which is however disputed. Often it is started of Seglern as favorable overnight accomodation without emergency. Since the port is cost-intensive constantly landed and the dredging, the task of the port one discusses.
