The Danube cycle track is one of the most famous and most beautiful remote cycle tracks in Germany and Austria. It was added the EuroVelo EV6 (river route) from Atlantic to black sea. The Danube cycle track runs to a large extent on both sides the Danube, partly however only on a side, so that during the journey the Danube must be crossed several times.
From the source of Danube in Donaueschingen it leads the most beautiful and piece of the Danube cycle track by the Baar to Tuttlingen and far Danube upper by the nature park. The Danube valley course from Donaueschingen to Ulm follows the Danube cycle track here over large distances, which offers possibilities for combined routes from course and bicycle. Many castles, locks, ruins, monasteries and baroque churches accompany the cyclist by the upper Danube valley, e.g. Castle wild stone, the Benediktinerkloster Beuron, the Hohenzollernschloss sigma rings and the baroque church of the residence small town Scheer. Behind Scheer the Danube leaves the Swabian Alb and the Danube cycle track runs by the broad levels of the upper-Swabian Danube valley. Over Riedlingen, Obermarchtal and Ehingen the cycle track reaches Ulm and leaves then the Land of the Federal Republic Baden-Wuerttemberg toward Bavaria. Over and Regensburg it goes to Passau. Below Passau crosses the Danube - and concomitantly the Danube cycle track - the border to Austria. Below upper cell offers an accessible barrage weir the possibility of connecting the border crossing with the Danube traversing.

The cycle track continues to run past at the Ameisberg, at the Danube country, by the loop, past at the Eferdinger Landl, by Linz, the Danube culture area and the Danube country Strudengau to Ybbs and by the Wachau over Tulln to Vienna. From there it leads far by the national park Danube Auen across shark castle to the slowakische border.
