Center Parcs is a chain of holidays parks in the Netherlands, France, Belgium, England and Germany. The parks are accumulations of Bungalows or holiday houses in a forest, put on around a lake. Special characteristic is the park center (therefore it the name "“center Parcs"”), as a subtropical experience bath, a purchase and a restaurant mile are. Some parks are equipped also with hotels. A stay in a park contains the free entrance into the experience bath for the duration of the stay. Two of the parks have an additional attraction, the "“Discovery in such a way specified of cathedrals"”, an artificial subtropical landscape under a dome.

For children there are to kindergartens and leisure's groups, as well as further sport possibilities for each age, over tennis and Squash up to dipping. Some parks have their own riding stable, other one, which is because of the sea, their own sail port. History

The founder of the centers Parcs is Piet Derksen, which possessed a chain of sport specialist shops ("“Sporthuis Centrum"”), before he opened 1968 the first park after the slogan "“nature for touching"”. The concept of the Bungalows integrated into nature was developed already at that time. The first park was extended 1971 by the experience bath, 1978 sales Piet Derksen its sports shops, in order to concentrate completely on the holidays parks. 1986 are renamed "“Sporthuis Centrum"” with the opening of the settlement "“Het Heijderbos"” in "“center Parcs"”. The chain increased until today on 20 parks. The last large step was the assumption of the holidays parks of the "“Gran Dorado"” - chain, which were integrated fully into the offer by center Parcs. With this assumption the parks were divided in three categories: "“Centers Parcs original"”, that are the original parks, "“Free Life from center Parcs"”, that are former "“Gran Dorado"” - parks inland, and "“Sea Spirit from center Parcs"”, that are the taken over parks, which are because of the coast.

Further the parks are divided by the operator in 3 quality classes: With "“3 Birdies"” evaluated parks are on a favorable price level and offer only the basis attractions. With "“4 Birdies"” evaluated parks offer more alternation, relaxation and an extended sport offer with tennis, Squash, Volleyball and mini gulf. Parks with "“5 Birdies"” have the largest offer, in parks of this category are naturally also the prices highest.

In December 2003 the holidays park "“North Sea the Tropics Parc Tossens"” was bought last by the Eurohyp AG and integrated under the name "“Butjadinger coast"” into the chain. The holidays concept/vacation concept is an interiororiented vacation concept, i.e. one aims particularly at to remain the vacation guests in the plants, which reproach in addition highly attractive offers within the plants. In contrast to it pursuing ducks other park operators (Grand Dorado) an externaloriented concept (Free Life from center Parcs), i.e. surrounding nature with their attractions, geography, sport and recreational value, are the important (outward) oriented goals of the guests.
