Cayo Coco is an island belonging to the Cuban province Ciego de in the Caribbean sea. It is extended part of the Jardines del Rey (gardens of the king) island chain mentioned over 600 km at the north coast of Cuba. After a temporary use as Air Force base by the Soviet Union in the cold war against the USA, the island serves today exclusively the tourism. Admits is the island for the good universe inclusive hotels. The island offers beside the pictorial white sand beaches also many corral reefs to dips. However only few entertainment possibilities are ordered outside of the hotels. In the shallow bays of the island are many water birds, e.g. To observe flamingo.

With the remainder of Cuba Cayo Coco is connected for long Fahrdamm, which was built into the 1960ern by one approx. 25 km. The entrance to the island is supervised at the land side of the dam by a control station. Only tourists and employees of the hotels arrive at the island. Cayo Coco possesses its own international airport.
