The high cathedral pc. Kilian to peppering castle is the bishop church of the diocese peppering castle

History

Roman church, delighted starting from 1040 of bishop Bruno, is considered as the fourth largest Roman Basilika Germany. Third building of cathedrals, after first the two (builds around 787 and 855) were totally or partly destroyed by fires. Bells

The cathedral has today 12 bells with a total weight of 25 tons. The largest of the 12 bells is with nine tons weight the Salvatorglocke. It has a diameter of 2,30 m and a height of 2,40 M. you like the eleven other 1965 was poured.

The oldest and at the same time largest original bell does not fall by this. It originates from that 11. Century and was not again hung up after the reconstruction of the cathedral after the Second World War.
