The castle stable good rock lies between the Untermerzbacher local parts book and in the district of hate mountains in Lower Franconia. From the high-medieval castle plant still the neck ditch and small wall remainders kept.
The small castle plant was brought to bricklayers after their "Wiederentdeckung "by the former circle homeland male nurse H. with the families by Rotenhan or light stone in connection. The layman historian tungsten Berninger interpreted the castle place 1996 as that castle good rock, which sold Hermann of Arnstein 1225 together with other possessions to the monastery Banz. The Veste seems to have been at that time already purged (" item AREA, in qua erectum fuerat castrum gvtenfels).
2003 closed the Middle Ages archaeologist Joachim Zeune of the opinion Berningers on (see literature). The few wall remainders from small, high-medieval "hand right parallelepipeds "make this interpretation quite plausible. Sometimes however a close group of rocks at the local edge is regarded of book as the further castle place. Some historians tried also to locate the castle good rock on "the God field "with Fierst.
In 18. and for 19 century had the castle stable as quarry to hold, which left indeterminable traces. A reconstruction of the original land development is made more difficult clearly thereby.
Similarly as with the rock castle stables devil stone and Rotenhan a free standing group of rocks for the building of castles was selected also here. All three neighbour castles are because of the slope, from the rising area are thus superelevated military engineering unfavorably and by a neck ditch from the mountain separated.
The ditch of the presumed castle good rock is about 20 m broad and up to 8 m deeply. At the edge of the fissured castle plateau the low debris barrier of the Ringmauer follows the ditch process. The old castle entrance on the south side was extended during the Steinbruchbetriebes to a transportation ramp. The situation of the surely existing fore-castle is unclear, clear area-pure did not keep.
From the stony interior land development the mentioned hand right parallelepipeds (approx. 30 x 40 cm) witness. On the top side the typical "wolf hole" suggests a dating before 1200. Later the masonry units were usually shifted with the "pliers"
