The castle road ranks among the most steeped in tradition holidays roads of Germany. Under approximately 100 tourism routes it is the only one, which runs in west east direction.

1954 as working group for the distance of Mannheim over Heilbronn to Nuremberg based, were converted it in the year 2000 into an association, in order to be able to become fair the always growing market requirements.

1994 succeeded it to the community by the border openings eastward to take up contact after Tschechien and to expand the castle road into the "“golden city"” Prague. Thus the entire castle road reached a travel length of nearly 1,000 kilometers.

It leads the Hohenloher country, the Franconia height, Frankish Switzerland, the Fichtelgebirge and the emperor forest by the Neckartal.

Apart from the individual traffic also the public transporting enterprises recognized like the course daughter German Touring these routistic attractions and partly opened. Particularly gladly these by travelers from overseas are accepted.

On the optimization of the castle road today in Tschechien continuously one continues working in particular. So one can count also to its existence in the year 2004 on further attached objects of interest.
