Castle pasteboard home (city pasteboard home, district Weissenburg Gunzenhausen) is a castle ruin. It lies on a long mountain spur in a over the city of the same name. An older castle stable is few hundred meters westsouthwest.
The castle was probably created by the Reichsministerialen by pasteboard home, which exercised the office of the realm marshals, around 1140. The oldest parts of the castle (archaeological investigations are missing so far) lie in the range of the core castle. From late 12. Century comes the castle chapel over the gate. In early 13. Century was developed the castle substantial, recognizably from the large sized embossment right parallelepipeds from Ringmauer (remainders), housing and donjon. From lategothical removals of the core castle some Spolien is present, in the fore-castle stands still two buildings for outgoing 15. Century under roof. Around 1500 one surrounded the core castle with a kennel together with round towers to the city side. After long neglect after the war became the castle in 18. Century leave and partly consciously the romantic ruin made. Extensive reorganizations not insignificant changed in addition, to the further receipt contributed the built volumes (particularly within the range of the chapel). In the last years the grounds again arranged (among other things garden), on the inside are showrooms for the history of the house pasteboard home and to the castle.
