The castle ruin hole in the local part Eichhofen of the Bavarian market municipality Nittendorf, standing under monument protection, is the landmark of the municipality and the rare example of a cave castle in Bavaria. Only in stone to the Traun in Upper Bavaria there is a further castle of this kind.
The of the small castle is historically not secured. Both 12. and 14. Century are possible in the opinion of historians.
