The castle green forest lies in the outskirts community green forest in the south of Munich. The castle already is in 12. Jh as possession of the counts von Andechs occupies documentary. 1270 came it into the possession of the Wittelsbacher. The today's built volumes originate mainly from the end 15. Jh. and is the only medieval castle, which kept in the closer environment from Munich. The castle served as hunting seat, prison and powder magazine. 1872 changed it into not-noble private property. Since 1977 it belongs to the Free State of Bavaria. Since 1979 a branch museum of the archaeological national collection is here accommodated. The castle can be visited and the view of the tower offers a worthwhile Aussicht.Im east wing is Sonderaustellungen to be seen. In the west wing Roman stone monuments as well as Roman old tag culture (among other things models of a warm air heating and a kitchen) are shown. In the Burghof are the components of a Roman temple and a Schmiede-Esse.
