The ruin of the small former water castle is because of the edge of the village Dippach in the district of hate mountains in Lower Franconia. Today still the surrounding walls and the gate tower are received.

History

The tiny castle originally belonged to the counts von Henneberg, then the Saxonian Wettinern. As leaning people those are called talking joke and fox of Schweinshaupten. 1665 acquired the family of soot worm the plant, which was resold 1725 to from Hutten to Birkenfeld. Beginning 18. Description

The ruin is a good example of one in former times so the numerous, rather modest seats of the low aristocracy in Franconias. Actually the plant was rather an easily fastened yard plant, which would have not for a long time withstood a serious attack.

The rectangular surrounding walls (25 x 32 m) are kept still up to six meters high. On this base, which exhibits neither nor Schiessscharten, probably formerly upper floors from wood or framework sat. The castle was rotated in former times in some distance from a water ditch, from which today only more few traces are.

An about 12 meter high, ton-curved gate tower granted the entrance. On the inside a rectangular entrance opening is over the passage, outside is cultivated the former school building. The rectangular openings interpreted in the inventory volume as Schiessscharten might have served rather the exposure.

From the interior land development only wall remainders, beginnings from party walls and bar holes kept.
