The Landtmann is a coffee house in Vienna. It is beside the castle theatre, at the Dr. - Karl-lie-achieve.

The Landtmann was opened on 1 October 1873 of the Franz Landtmann as "“Vienna the most elegant Localit¤t"”. The castle theatre did not exist yet (it was opened only 1888), and also the new city hall and the new university (on the other roadside) was building sites.

Later Franz Landtmann the coffee house sold seven years to the brothers William and Rudolf chap. 1929 were reconditioned the Landtmann completely and got the Innenaustattung standing today under monument protection. The 4 wood columns are particularly remarkable in the input area, which represent famous premiere scenes of the castle theatre.

1976 took over the family transverse field the steeped in tradition coffee house. Since that time it is also a restaurant.

In the "“Landtmann"” Gustav Mahler, Peter Altenberg, Sigmund Freud, Felix Salten and Emmerich operated, later were Julius Raab, Curd Otto Preminger and Romy cutter regular customers, today operate here many actors and politicians around the turn of the century.

In the Landtmann on the average 2.8 press conferences per day are held.
