The Austrian museum for Volkskunde in Vienna is the largest volkskundliche museum of Austria and is in the Laudongasse 15-19.

The museum was created 1895 by Michael Haberlandt and William Hein, both officials at the Ethnograhi department of the nature-historical museum, who were scientifically in the 1870 created Anthropologi society in Vienna connected. Legal entity is the 1894 created association for Volkskunde. In addition, the collections consider all areas of the former Austrian monarchy, to the inventory belong objects more numerously different European countries (e.g. collection Eugenie gold star). Since 1917 the museum is accommodated in the palace beautiful fount. Present chief (since 2006) is Margot Schindler.
