The anti-war museum is in Berlin, in the Brussels road 21 in the quarter Wedding (now: District center). It is that world-wide first museum against the war and by the anarchistpazifistischen war opponent Ernst Friedrich 1925 was based.

Current exhibition

In a permanent exhibition the frights of the past world wars, pazifistische actions are documented and dealt with the current war situation in the world. Besides a Luftschutzkeller is to be visited, whose mechanism was reconstructed original faithful. In drawing of a bill special topics are treated, a Peace Gallery show art against the war. The museum is daily (also at sunning and holidays) opened from 16 to 20 o'clock. The entrance is free.

History

The 1925 of Ernst Friedrich created museum were first in the Parochialstrasse 29 in Berlin center (nearby the Alexanderplatzes). Beside objects from the First World War pictures were issued by Kollwitz and Otto DIX. Kollwitz illustrated also publications of Ernst Friedrich. Besides the museum founder had succeeded in to procure and issuing photographies from war-mutilated to. After the Nazis had closed and had the museum 1933, Ernst Friedrich opened his museum in Brussels 1936 again, which was again completely destroyed however 1940 after the German occupation of Belgium. The former anti-war museum in Berlin served the SA up to the destruction of the house as storm restaurant and was one of the most notorious torture chambers of Berlin.

To 2. May 1982 - that 15. Day of death of the museum founder - the museum in Berlin was again-created. It was temporarily in Berlin cross mountain and since October 1984 at the today's place.
