The Alsterpavillon is a steeped in tradition, if not even the in Hamburg. It is at the young remote stairs, a Flaniermeile along the Binnenalster.

History

The first Alsterpavillon was opened 1799. With the change of the young remote stairs to the trip goal 1841 a larger building were established. Martin Haller, a well-known Hamburg architect, sketched the third building, which 1900 one replaced to 1875.

1914 were established as in the meantime the fifth building a with pointed roof. During the third realm Swing concerts found here still long time, although the music was with the Nationsozialisten. The got the pointed name "„Jew aquarium "“. While the operation Gomorrha the pavilion was destroyed at the night of 26. on 27 July 1943.

The architect Ferdinand strive was it shown 1953 for to sixth building standing today, a semi-circle with flat roof, responsible.
